Serving to change lives for eternity
copyright Z Foundation, 2009
Dear Z Families, Friends and Supporters,

We have exciting news to share . . . .

Shawn and I will be taking a hiatus from the Z Foundation for five months,
starting on September 30th. We have enrolled in the Crossroads Discipleship
Training School (CDTS) through YWAM, in Kona, Hawaii.

Coincidentally, Jon Hatton (http://www.dirtyoldsandals.blogspot.com), who
worked for the Foundation for six months, will also be going to YWAM and will
be in the Justice DTS. Jon's salary was generously donated to the Foundation for
just a six month period, so Jon decided that YWAM would be a good next step
in his life's journey.

Here is a brief description of the program all of us will be taking:

The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is designed to help you understand God
more deeply, live more like Jesus and identify your unique gifts and purpose to
use in missions. DTS is an intensive, residential training course which begins with
a 12 week classroom phase, followed by an 8-12 week outreach. DTS
emphasizes cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to
answer the call to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations"
Matthew 28:19. For more information, please go to either:

Two Rivers Church has stepped up to the plate to continue the Walter P. Taylor
and Open Door Church serving opportunities. If you would like to be a part of
these rewarding outreaches, please contact Stuart Row at (865) 389-4925.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers as we seek to follow God's will and
learn to be better servants. After a very busy period of starting the Z Foundation,
doing over twenty local outreaches, producing media for many Christian
organizations, leading several mission trips to Guatemala and Jamaica, designing
and building a playground at the Robin's Nest, and then sending off our
co-founders, the Wiley Family, (http://thewileyfamily4.blogspot.com) to become
assistant directors at the Nest (http://www.robinsnestchildrenshome.org), we
realized we needed to step back from the busyness of serving and spend some
time getting refueled, refreshed and restored!

As I am sure you can imagine, the grieving process after losing a child is
never-ending, and we have realized that we have not taken sufficient time to
focus solely on the healing process. We hope and pray that God will do mighty
works in our lives during our time with YWAM, healing our broken hearts and
giving us new purpose, increased hope, and renewed strength to continue to
serve Him throughout the rest of our lives.

We have created a blog at http://sandsweimer.blogspot.com to keep people
posted about our journey. Our daughter, Kelly, completed her YWAM DTS in
June of this year. She feels that God is calling her to become a full-time
missionary, so she has decided to pursue a degree in Counseling through
YWAM's college, University of the Nations, in Kona. She also has a blog at
http://kellyweimer.blogspot.com.

We want to thank all of you who have prayed faithfully for us over the past
couple of difficult years. We could not have possibly gotten to this point without
God's help and the prayers of His people.

In His service,

Sally and Shawn Weimer
