Walter P. Taylor Homes Water Fun Day

Thanks to lots of hard work, enthusiasm, and a willing-
ness to love both the kids and parents from Walter P.
Taylor Homes, Saturday's outreach event was a big
success! When we looked around we saw Z Found-
ation volunteers playing with, talking to, hugging, carry-
ing, feeding, serving, comforting and loving on children
everywhere. We also saw many people sweating and
working so hard to prepare food, pick up trash, and all
of the "not so fun" aspects of putting on a successful,
fun and worthwhile outreach event.

Feedback from our volunteers has been very
positive and encouraging. Most people said
that their favorite part of the event was being
with the children and seeing the smiles on their faces. Some of
the kids liked the water slide and water balloons the best (imagine
that!). Most people wrote that they felt God's presence throughout the day. Many people said that they
would like to go back to this neighborhood again and again to really get to know the people who live
there and start developing relationships.

Feedback from the residents was heartwarming. Dozens of adults came up to us and thanked us for
coming and told us what a blessing it is to have us come spend time with them and their children. We
were asked many times, "When are you coming back?" We are going to try to be consistent with our
events, and try to go down there formally every month, and maybe informally more often.

We have a very exciting story to tell . . . Some of our volunteers spent quite a bit of time talking with one
of the residents named Jerry. He expressed an interest in going to church, but explained that he didn't
have a car, so he couldn't go. Well, yesterday morning, Jeff, an intern with Infusion Ministries, picked up
Jerry and some of his family and brought them to Two Rivers! They all loved it and want to come back
again! They thought Brad was cool in his "normal, street clothes" and liked his ability to teach the Bible,
they loved the worship, and they felt very welcomed. Jeff and some other Z Foundation volunteers took
the group out to lunch, and Jeff spent some more time with them in their home yesterday afternoon.
Word has already spread about Two Rivers Church, and we have about ten people who want to come to
our service next Sunday! AMAZING!!!

serving heart and willingness to honor
God with your time and talents. It was
an awesome day!!!
