OPEN DOOR CHURCH
June 19th

We had another amazing, rewarding and awesome time of loving and
serving the large group of homeless who attend the Saturday
afternoon church service at the old Sevier Heights Baptist Church in
East Knoxville. We had many new and returning volunteers who said
they really enjoyed helping and serving and experiencing a different
kind of church service. A big thank you to all of the hard-working
Servants of Christ: Karen and Kurt Chandler, the Heineken family,
Tiffany Ogier and kids, Jeff Armstrong, Mack and Makenzie Ayers,
Mark Scarbrough, Rachel Wenger, Cody Jenike, and the Cullata
family. (please forgive us if we left anybody out)

We can't effectively put into words how incredible this serving
opportunity has been. The people who help put on the service are so
grateful and loving towards us and make us feel like we are really
making a difference. We are starting to really get to know some of the
homeless folks and actually wish we could go every Saturday to
continue to build the relationships that have started from our
once-a-month visits.
Please prayerfully consider if and how God
may want to use you to support this
worthwhile outreach. Do you have a few
hours to give on a Saturday every other
month? Do you have a few extra dollars
you could donate to help pay for the meal
we buy, prepare and serve? (The food
usually costs between $300 - 400) Or,
could you commit to praying for Open
Door Church and the Z Foundation every
third Saturday afternoon each month?
Thank You!
