Walter P. Taylor Family Fun Day A group of Z families and volunteers spent several hours on Saturday at the Walter P. Taylor Boys and Girls Club. This was our first "informal" outreach where the goal was to just hang out with the children and parents, instead of having major organized activities. Most of the kids and volunteers seemed to enjoy playing basketball or tossing a football in the main gym area. Others gathered around the crafts table, coloring and making bookmarks. Everyone enjoyed the pizza and cookies and the fellowship that came with eating and talking in small, informal groups made up with both volunteers and residents. We gave out DVDs with the children's version of The Jesus Film, donated by Two Rivers Church! Although we did not have a speaker giving a message, we believe that the Walter P. residents know that we come and spend time with them every month because we love Jesus, and we hope that love overflows from our hearts each time we show up! |
